There could be a number of things going on.
It is quite possible that that bug is the problem that
you are seeing. But it could very easily be a variety of other
things too.

I suggest running perdition with the debug option enabled
and look in the logs. This may give you some information about what
is going wrong.

Other than that, ssldump is an excellent tool for debugging SSL related
problems.
