For good housekeeping I prefer to go the former way so that outbound mails can be retained on their own mail servers rather than having all records on the routing mail server. This is an experiment. In real life it is not feasible to have 100 domains pointing at one public IP for sending and downloading mails. On Xen box it is possible running >100 servers as domU concurrently. Although I haven't tested it.
