perdition and ldaps support is not working

Hi ;

I want to use perdition with our ldap server .  But our ldap server only 
support ssl connections  like ldaps://hostname:636/

I tested perdition version that comes Debian Lenny. It seems doesn't 
have ldaps:// support.

Question :

1- How  can i recompile debian  perdition  for ldaps support?
2- Or if i download and install it from sources , what configuration 
option should i choose ?
