Hypocrite alert - I admit to using gmail (though mostly only as the forward address for my old personal account that I posted to Usenet from that is 99% spam, and gmail's filter is _decent_ though nowadays still seems to miss a lot). But people that want to use this do realize that there are ssh clients that run in a browser, right? So even if you're at a "limited" net cafe that just has web browers, you can ssh somewhere and run pine the way it was intended.. (semi-joking at the last point) Unfortunately I don't have the URLs saved, though I tried it at one point just to try it. -- Answer: Because it makes conversations flow in a nonsensical order.
