Awesome.. Do you know of a manpage that describes .mailcap? (man mailcap and man .mailcap show nothing, apropos mailcap only shows one Perl call.) I added: Image/GIF; open -a Preview %s and that seems to work fine (I simply parrotted the one existing other line there). I should just try it, but maybe there are more things I can put in the mailcap file -- e.g. Image/* might work.. Reading a description of the proper format would be great. (I did turn off the image viewer setting in pine to make sure my change was actually having an effect.) thanks. -- Answer: Because it makes conversations flow in a nonsensical order.
