Better would be a well understood, easy way to retrieve all recent
messages ... if action is required, the message needs to persist until
the action is completed... by providing access to the messages, all that
needs to remain on the screen is an indication that one or more new
messages has been issued. No need to delay any message for reading since
access is assured.
