I am not sure what you mean by the second half of that paragraph, irrelevant as POP is maybe, but IMAP is a communications protocol to maintain sync between client & server, not the key to multiuser as I understand IMAP. I am confident IMAP cares not about this issue nor possesses control. Especially as it seems the system runs not in realtime, but delayed anyway. The key to multiuser is the client & the server for multiple user access that requires sharing & locking & updating. Anotherwords, is Pine designed for multiuser as a client, & is the server designed for multiuser on the email account? Is the system designed for two separate users to login simultaneously? I suspect you are logging into one email account two times with the same user ID. Try that on any network & typically something will go wrong, if the network even allows it to happen at all. Secure systems refuse to allow a second login by the same user ID that is already logged in. For stability reasons as well as security. If the email account accepts two different user IDs, it is multiuser, otherwise it is single user. I am not aware of any other designs. If you can get any reliable service from a single user system with two logins of the same user ID, I am amazed. The system is a race operating on the edge of a cliff. As two airplanes cannot land on the same runway at the same time without a crash. -- RossARR [email protected] mrossarr.nixsyspaus.org/ nixsyspaus.org=208.64.38.250 ---end-of-message--- _______________________________________________ Pine-info mailing list [email protected] http://mailman1.u.washington.edu/mailman/listinfo/pine-info
