Ok, rereading the help for that, and my experience, shows that this only reopens in some situations.. From the help, I guess it only reopens when it checks mail.. though it did in one other situation that I don't remember where it previously didn't. But for example, I just tried to delete a message, and it wouldn't because the folder was closed.
