This may have been covered somehwere on the list, already, and, probably 
has been "done to death", already, but, what is the difference (or are 
the differences) between Alpine and PINE 4.64?

I have looked at the web page at http://www.washington.edu/alpine/ , and 
I saw no comparison of Alpine and PINE, and no link to any comparison.

I would not know, for example, whether Alpine would use the .pinerc (I 
think that is its name) file that I have been using with PINE 4.64.

I do not know whether my current PINE mail files/directories, would be 
compatible with Alpine.

I have hundreds of filters (mostly for eliminating malicious messages 
like viral and spam messages), and several hundred folders for messages, 
as I subscribe to a couple of hundred mailing lists, relating to several 
different subject areas, and I would basicaly need a "slot-out, slot-in" 
kind of compatibility, where everything that I have, that now works with 
PINE 4.64, would function the same (or pretty close), with Alpine or 
whatever I use on Debian etch.
