I find the Pine-info forum a bit strange in handling email addresses for replies. It is very easy to accept the wrong reply option, "All - yes or no", "Reply-To - yes or no", forget to manually correct the problem during a reply, & go off forum. No matter which selection is made, reply is not directly back to the Pine-info forum list. Most all forums I access always provide the correct forum reply-to address, this forum drops it mainly for the original sender, offering the Pine-info list address only as as cc:, or drops it all together if a Reply-To address is accepted from the sender. Am I missing something? Maybe this not a forum - just a list system? I set Reply-To in my config to include the email address I hail from, for all general purpose reasons. I see other users here do the same, not most though. Yet when I receive a message from the Pine-info forum list, the email is not from the forum, it is from the sender that posted the message. To reply to that message can cause a possiblity where the reply is sent back to the sender & not the forum. Essentially going off forum, or both forum & sender get tagged. I try to remember, but forget, to refuse "Reply-To" offerings, & reply to "ALL" - which still seems wrong, I think periodically is. Why does the Pine-info list not send out the message with the Reply-To from Pine-info, or at least not cc:, not a return to the sender only? To keep us on list distribution, on forum? Am I set up wrong? I see others setup the same & causing the same results as I just recently observed with my last subject: "Forward Multipart HTML". Matt & I just emailed off list & I did not do on purpose, I suspect he did not either. This is not a complaint. But it seems something is not setup correctly. Any ideas? Is this an old subject I missed? -- The Best to You & Yours, RossARR [email protected] mrossarr.nixsyspaus.org/ ---end-of-message--- _______________________________________________ Pine-info mailing list [email protected] http://mailman1.u.washington.edu/mailman/listinfo/pine-info
