Hmm ... that's not the behaviour I've seen in my old Suse-bundled pine, 
nor the one I'm seeing in my Alpine, but both are patched version with the 
full set of Eduardo Chappa's patches (I realized that for the Suse-bundled 
one only after I moved to Alpine).

I see a complex list of commands on the bottom of my screen

GOTO folder in <Incoming-Folders>  [INBOX] :
^G Help   ^T ToFldrs ^P Prev Collection  ^W INBOX ^X ListMatche Down History
^C Cancel Ret Accept  ^N Next Collection TAB Complete Up History

I confess the only one I use is G ^T and then navigate among my complex 
list of folder collections.

Define Key is indeed available in Eduardo Chappa's patches (realized that 
a few days ago only !)
