virtual mailboxes

Hi all:

I read that Alpine supports virtual mailboxes, however, I could not find 
out how I possibly can create or manage them. Does someone has a pointer 
to that?

Can a virtual mailbox span over multiple other mailboxes, e.g. show all 
messages of all mailboxes inside a specific folder that are flagged 
important?
