default behavior change with enable-full-header-cmd?

In Pine 4.58 and earlier, with enable-full-header-cmd the H command will toggle the state of whether-or-not-I-want-to-see-a-header. In 4.64 (using the port on FreeBSD 7.0), the state remains changed for only one message. Each time another message is viewed, the system will default to showing no header, and you have to hit H again. This is very annoying if you're trying to compare the headers of many messages. Any idea what happened? The change could have occurred at any of the versions in between 4.58 and 4.64, but I'm listing the ones I know about for sure. Thanks.
