Whether PC Alpine suffers the problem or not is irrelevant. It is
not a solution, not even an option; as older Windoozz systems
apparently cannot run PC Alpine. I tried to load PC Alpine months
back on this older system & discovered a communications deficiency!

You should remember my inquiry about it on the Alpine forum. I
retrieved a response from Mark Crispin that PC Alpine was not
developed to work on Windoozz systems prior to XP & may not be
expected to function! So I stated I would just dump Windoozz &
migrate to some form of Unix, eventually. I remember you commented
on trying Apple OS X I think, as a joke maybe, but to which I
replied I was not joking. Apple was being considered. Remember?

You should know PC Pine 4.64 is "the latest version of the
software", that code series! Alpine is not the same software, not by
code anyway, from what I read, obviously based on license alone. And
apparently so from my failed attempt to use it on an older Windoozz
system, or else it would work. Alpine obviously demands more from XP
than previous Windoozz systems can provide.

You should always ask or check first, if an upgrade to Alpine is
even possible before critiquing what somebody else is trying to do!
In this case Alpine is not possible! PC Pine is the only possible
software option (Even though its future development is dead!), or I
would not have asked as I did, avoiding Alpine in my query! And that
is why I only posted on the Pine Forum! You should know by now I am
on both forums! Though hardly anybody is on this one anymore. They
should merge the two for simplicity.

Now you could check Alpine out & tell us all if the problem also
occurs with PC Alpine! A simple test! For future ref of course, as I
will eventually dump this Microshaft mess! It would be appreciated!

And Thank You!
