Postfix version 1.1 patch 12 fixes a malformed address problem.
- The garbage in "user@garbage"@domain address forms may cause the
SMTP or LMTP client to terminate with a fatal error exit because
garbage/tcp is not an existing service. This cannot be abused
to cause the SMTP or LMTP client to send data into unauthorized
ports.
The difference between a snapshot and an official release is as
follows: the official release does not change except for bugfixes
and portability patches. New features are tried out in snapshot
releases. Code that stops changing becomes part of Postfix official
version 1.2, which will be released in a week or so.
