Scoring msg size riddle

Hi everyone,

Could someone enlighten me as to why

  :0
  * 100^2  > 2000
  { LOG=3D"> 2000 score =3D $=3D $NL" }

gives a score of 17 for a message of 830 bytes,
and 124 for a message of 2233 (sizes according to LOGABSTRACT).

I wonder if I misunderstood something essential or whether there's a =

bug in the code (where I haven't looked yet) or its documentation.
