This answer is terribly damaging to the qmail community and, worse, to
the prospective community. You have shown no means by which you obtained
'ownership' of qmail, but you (apparently) run it. If you do not own it,
then you have no rights (according to softwarelaw.html which you so
happily quote) to run it or use it. When asked how you own it you say:

Just where do you get this idea of ownership? If someone gives you their
car keys, do you own the car?. When someone puts a computer on your desk
at work, do you own it? If your boss gives you the company cheque book,
do you own the cash?

The act of giving does not confer ownership unless stated or implied by
context. The act of publishing confers not rights at all on the
reader/recipients. Leaving qmail lying around on his website does not
give you ownership of it unless djb says you own it. Your continual
denial of this simple fact suggests that you are as ignorant of the
ownership rights as we who seek to clarify them. If you have anything
concrete that proves your ownership (such as a web page that mentions
'own' perpetual' and 'qmail' in the same sentence, or a verifiable email
from djb that confers these rights, then do something useful for the
board and publish them. If not, you are damaging the community by your
bluffs.
