My interpretation is that this clause is similar in nature to the protection of the name Apache in the Apache license, but also to protect DJB in case a security explot is found that might affect derivative works as well. I side with the idea that if I am paid to install Qmail in a system in a certain configuration, that I can automate that completely in any way I see fit as long as I am not charging for software,a nd the software is only offered conjunct that service. I do not see a difference between installing on a computer I own in my living room, a server I lease, or a server which I lease out on a paid basis including administration labor. But I think the only one who can say authoritatively where the boundary is intended to lie is DJB. Best Wishes, Chris Travers [email protected]
