Thw qmail pop-3d program is not working

Hi guys,

I am a newbie in qmail and I got a linux box installed along with qmail and named. I installed an MX record for the qmail in my named server and after taht I configured the Microsoft Outlook express client through which I was able to send the mails and the mails were coming to the Mailbox file but I was not able to receive the mails through the Outlook Express.

I went through the search engines and somewhere I saw that I need to install some us2s(some software) and checkpassword . I installed both of them but after that when I run the /var/bin/qmail/qmail-pop3d(which I guess invokes the qmail-popup utility and which calls the checkpassword program). The +OK prompt came on teh console which I read somewhere was the checkpasword prompt where I am suppose to enter my username and password. But as soon as I enter anything below the +OK and press enter it says ERR - Unimplemented. 

Can you tell me that is it because  have not added any password to the checkpassword database. If yes how to do the same . Even if I don't enter anything at +OK assuming that the popserver has started , yet I am not able to receive my e-mails through Outlok express . please please expalin
