If you use a system that allows for hassle-free renaming of binaries, 
like Debian with its dpkg-divert, then there's no need for a patch to 
insert calls in Qmail's call chains, or at least I wouldn't see why.

Did you see better-qmail-remote?[1] What are you doing differently?
