You may find an application for the Blackberry, that connects to your IMAP
server. If you want to use the PUSH stuff, you need a Blackberry Enterprise
Server. Normally, the BES connects to an Exchange Server. But there are
some BETA products from other vendors as well.

The IMHO best software is Zimbra[1]. It is mostly opensource. The
connector is closed of course...

Zimbra is one of those all in wonder collaboration suites. But it is
doing well so far. (Zimbra uses postfix. And there is no easy way to
change this.)
