authentication - two usernames for one user

Hello,

Is it possible to have two usernames for user authentication ?

For example, I would like to have "uid" and another LDAP field,
the user can use the "uid" or this other field when
accessing the system (via auth_imap, auth_pop or auth_smtp).

Or maybe using "uid" as a multivalued field.
