new qmail ldap instalation

Dear gentleman,

i have finnished installing qmail+ldap in my testing server.

I am trying to send a test message for a local user but i see no
access attempt to the directory looking at the ldap logs!
Is this normal ? How does qmail  knows where to store the local mails
without looking at the user entry in ldap ?
