I think there is small misunderstanding here with regards to how 
Serialmail functions. When you send a message to, say, 10 people, you 
assume that it will still result in just *one* message in Serialmail's 
pppdir and that the destination SMTP server will take care of the rest.

Well - in reality it does not function like this - because qmail is not 
deisgned to function like this. If you send a mail to 10 recepiencts, it 
results into 10 mails being sent out by qmail. It is these ten mails 
that are put into the pppdir cause the pppdir is configured to catch all 
non-local mails from qmail.

You if you think you will save bandwidth or cut down on mail delivery 
time because of Serialmail - think again.

BTW, if you are interested in achieving something to the scale of what 
you mention, I believe a patch for qmail exists. Perhaps some search on 
the Internet will achieve results.
