Yes, that is how I configured things a couple of years ago to solve the 
same thing you are also seeing. I don't have the rc.* sources available 
right now but I think I just put that into rc.local.r00 (anything coming 
from a non-subscriber was classified as spam unless it had my 
X-Mailing-List: header).
