No, I'm not suggesting that the queue processing change in any way.
Items marked 'R' would still be removed. What I would like is a visual
indicator that items after the mark have been reported in previous 'ask
process queue' reports. Something like this:

------------------------------------------------------------

ASK QUEUE REPORT

These are the contents of your ASK queue. These emails are sitting in
the
queue waiting for a confirmation from the sender. Change the "N" on the
left
of each email with the desired action. Actions are:

N - Do Nothing. Leave it queued.
R - Remove from queue.
D - Deliver message (but don't whitelist sender).
W - Deliver AND Whitelist sender.
I - Add sender to Ignorelist (and delete message).
B - Add sender to Blacklist (and delete message).

Just edit the message as you wish and reply. Quotes are OK.

At times, my queue will grow quite long. Such a visual indicator would
make it easier to check just the items which arrived since the last
queue report (to manually whitelist mailing lists and such).
