Just found out about SPF yesterday.

I guess my suggestion amounts to assuming an SPF record of;

@ IN TXT "v=spf mx -all"

or

@ IN SPF2 "mx  -all"

And acting according.

Maybe not.  However, I think it is a reasonable default SPF record for a 
spam blocker.  It would be nice to reduce the number of outgoing 
challenges if at all possible.
