Thank you for your help. I follow all the javascript/AJAX part, yes, that will be interesting, but based on what I am trying to acomplish that won't be an issue. Poorly formed HTML can be. By compressed, I am assuming you mean gz encodings and the like where the data has been truly compressed. Is this corrrect? I think XHTML should work if HTML does, though I am very rusty on XHTML.
