I hand't thought you had. I am glad you are still working on it. I am on 
Fedora 9 (all updates, with the not released RPM from the maintainer for 
Fedora) on X86_64 (AMD X2). I am running 64 bit.

Are you catching the closure of the child processes and closing the 
pipes there?
