Dunno... Maybe a "visible separation line" with the backend storage? For
a theoretical possibility to have the css data in e.g. RAM that is not a
mmap()ed file? For example, in NOR flash of an embedded device, or
normal RAM that after learning is stored to something-else-than-a-file?

It just "feels more right" to me, but you can safely disregard my
feelings ;-)
