'tried to fork your minions'

i have a crm program that runs on a red hat server at work (it was trained
there).

it runs perfectly when i access it from my kubuntu machine (where it was
developed), but when we try to access it from a different machine (windows),
i get the following error:

'tried to fork your minions, but failed. perhaps you have run out of process
slots.'

from both machines, the procedure was to ssh into the server, and start the
program from our respective accounts there.

is this a crm bug, or is it something else?

(this is the output of crm -v on the server:)

This is CRM114, version 20080630-BlameVT (TRE 0.7.5 (LGPL))
