   imho separate lists are the way to go; those interested into the
   apps can always joint the proper list(s), and x-posting here could
   be done on case by case.

You know, this is really forcing the hand for getting something
like scoped variables similar to Ger's stuff into the mainline.

Kicking it around more with Nico and Kent, I'm leaning toward a 
modification of what Ger is doing (modified, in that we do not want
to break existing code that depends on globality)

Right now, everything is global.  We don't want to change that; 
global is a simple model.

But we want to add two things: dynamic scoping and locality.  They're
different.

We're working on it.  But the library comes first.
