Ok, I'm getting a handle on some of this.

Followup: After gathering more statistics and then plotting the scores 
more carefully (rather than using Excel), I note that each of the 
classifiers
results in what looks like a double-humped distribution that is fit
quite nicely by the sum of two gaussians.

I'm trying an experiment by scaling the scores of each classifier by
the area under the curve for a each run on a quasi-random sample of 
mail and looking at the correlations.

(I'm impressed by CRM's speed and low memory usage, BTW)
