ooh my apologies, i didnt read this right.. 
you were right, I couldnt find a log file that it was writing to.. so .
[betty@beast]$ cat /tmp/mail | crm114 -t -u ~/.crm mailreaver.crm -stats_only 2>/dev/null

gives me 

 Aw, crud.  mailreaver.crm broke.  Here's the error: :\_nl:
crm114: *ERROR* 
  Can't CALL the nonexistent label:  :load_cf_file:
 Sorry, but this program is very sick and probably should be killed off.
This happened at line 125 of file mailreaver.crm
(runtime system location: crm_exec_engine.c(701) in routine: crm_invoke)

config file cant be read? i assume thats 
[betty@beast]$ ls -al mailfilter.cf  
-r--r--r-- 1 betty  betty  17423 Jan 27 21:36 mailfilter.cf
?
