I reran my test lines and got the following..

Setting usertrace level to 1
Setting WD to /home/jason/.crm
Using program file /home/jason/.crm/mailfilter.crm
Commandline set of user variable at 5 '--stats_only'.
Loading program from file /home/jason/.crm/mailfilter.crm
Hash of program: 194B85B9, length 44540 bytes

 Setting cmdline var ':stats_only:' to 'SET'
Program statements: 1324, program length 44489
Starting to execute /home/jason/.crm/mailfilter.crm at line 0

Parsing line 0 :
 -->

Executing line 0 :
Statement 0 is non-executable, continuing.

Parsing line 1 :
 -->  #! /usr/bin/crm

Executing line 1 :
Statement 1 is non-executable, continuing.

Parsing line 2 :
 --> # -- bangline args removed for system portability --

Executing line 2 :
Statement 2 is non-executable, continuing.

Parsing line 3 :
 --> # -( learnspam learnnonspam learnfile stats_only config spamcss nonspamcss fileprefix force unlearn cache )

Executing line 3 :

etc...
