Will the "awaiting removal" status allow servers that use DSBL to accept
emails from our IP?

The 24 hour "Awaiting Removal" time is to give DSBL submitters time to
test your host for further vulnerabilities.  During this time,
216.228.51.240 will be published in a list of hosts that are awaiting
removal, and you can probably expect to see additional tests.  There's a
removal counter on the listing page:
