Personally, I'm currently greylisting for 5 minutes, then whitelisting for 28 days from the last time the triplet was attempted (whether or not it was successful)

I haven't seen much spam slipping in during the 24-hour and 28 day window that didn't also try a redeliverying between 5-minutes and 24-hours.

If the zombie world changes I'll update my configuration appropriately, but this seems to reduce the negative impacting of greylisting rather significantly.

I do tend to play with my greylisting period a lot, anywhere from 5 minutes to 60 seems to be around the same effectiveness, so I keep it short to avoid annoying users.
