I handle a load far higher than that (40+/sec at peak) with a dual 1.7Ghz XEON with 2GB of RAM (old Compaq w6000 workstation) running FreeBSD 6.1 with Sendmail 8.13.8 and MySQL 5. The load hits 8 or 9 occasionally, but no other issues. Oh, and the same server handles 45 websites, virt email, mailing lists, etc, etc. I wouldn't worry too much about it. -Paul
