you know Adam, I wonder if things might be easier if we made a 
simplified version of camram and advocated inclusion of the hooks that 
let us do the filtering for them.  We would then submit the library for 
inclusion so the filtering gets done "right" we control stamp generation 
and it's not a big deal for them.  etc. etc.

what say you?
