Hi The -mmmx question I think is as Linus said: you have an old gcc compiler which appeas not to support this option. I also tried an AMD chip and the mmx code works. Your chip capabilities confirms this listing "MMX". The -mcpu=pentium just tells it to optimize for pentium (but code is still runnable on 486s etc).
