Thanks Gary, you helped me figure this out.

We are running amavisd chrooted so I will have to run Makefile with 
prefix for the razor binaries to be installed into the corresponding 
/chroot/amavisd/ dirs instead of the default / (or symlink them), but in 
general I have a better understanding of it now, so I will be able to 
perform the steps you have proposed.
