Disabling the CNAME cache by setting dns_max_cname_cache to 0 indeed reduces
the slowness somewhat (from 37 minutes to about 5 minutes per t/bayes*.t test).
Even then it is still a *lot* slower than before where these tests took about
20 seconds each.
Setting dns_available to 0 brings back the behaviour as before, but now
t/uri_list.t is failing:
