Spambayes not starting.

Spambayes has taken to not always starting up when the machine boots up. It's intermittent and doesn't appear to be associated with any LAN problems (but why should it - the email client hasn't been started?). Sometimes nothing at all appears to happen, sometimes the tray icon appears with a red flag, and then the whole icon disappears without any sort of error message. I'm running Win7 Home Premium SP1 and the email client (which, as I say, isn't even running) is The Bat!. Anyone any idea what's going (or not going) on?
