Gloom, Dispair and Agony on me...

My Motorola m25 MP3 player is somehow destroying memory cards.

I am on my second SD 512mb card that has been rendered useless after 
installing it into the player.

Am I doing something wrong?  The instructions say that the USB should pick 
it up as removable storage under the branch for the player.  Trying to 
delete using the m25 utility causes the card to go TANGO UNIFORM.  I can run 
a format (choices are FAT32 and FAT) but then the card is just unusable.

Ideas?
