Presumably you need to install it first. Read the FAQ link.

Forget about the Windows way of doing things.

It emulates MS-DOS. You can run your programs from its "DOS-like
command prompt" just as you would from a normal DOS prompt.

Note that I haven't used DOSBox myself, but others say it works well.
