How about if he just removes the headers added  by SpamAssassin?

On a related note, the end user can often configure his ISP's mailserver
to add special headers to an incoming message to gage its spamminess.
My ISP prepends "[Bulk]" to the subject field of suspected spam (an 
option I elected).  Aren't these things technically "material changes"?
