If you subscribed to the mail-list version of this newsgroup, you have a
confirmation letter whose instructions you need to follow in order to
"confirm" or affirm your subscription, Posting in the newsgroup won't
achieve that, so probably your request will be dropped unless you confirm
correctly and in a timely manner.

If you actually dont want a subscription then doing nothing will achieve
your goal.
