Well I sure as hell did! Only bus I ever took from 1st-12th grade was first
grade, and that was because we had to cross a major road. Elementary, middle
and high school were all about 1 mile away, we walked every day, snow or
rain. Everyone within that distance walked (or we road our bikes in nice
weather), not just us. Back then parents didn't baby their kids like they do
now.
