Re: An unusual sight

I'm probably one of those parents. However, I live in LA. Our school is a block away, but even that is too far to let my 
eight-year-old walk without us going into a paranoid fit. It's a big, busy street and it's F***ING LA. Sad.

Same thing regarding 'go out to play.' I used to do that when was a kid, but I lived in Michigan's Upper Peninsula (forest 
out the back door) in a small town and it was the Sixties. (Which means the Fifties since it was such a backwater area. Heck 
the Sixties didn't arrive there until 1972!)

I wish I *could* just let 'em ride their bike and/or walk to school, I wish they *could* just 'go out and play.' It's a sad 
and scary world.

Not really, spoiling is also not making them get off their increasingly fat arses and
walk or ride their bikes, or at least go outside and play.
