So you get your car out, drive one block in rush hour traffic, drop your 
kid off and drive back in rush hour traffic.  Just how many miles does 
this one block stretch?  What about a short morning stroll with your kid 
meeting and chatting to other kids parents doing the same thing  on the 
way to school.  If no one else does it them maybe you can start a trend 
through example telling people you are doing your bit for the environment 
and giving your kid and yourself a gentle bit of exercise at the same time.
